Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2026.

The Law Office of Jeffrey O'Brien, doing business as O'Brien Immigration, PC ("we," "our," or "the firm"), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you when you visit obrienimmigration.com and related subdomains (the "Site") or contact us, and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

Information We Collect

We collect two types of information on the Site:

Information you provide to us. When you submit a consultation request, contact form, or other inquiry, we collect the information you provide โ€” typically your name, email address, phone number, preferred language, a brief description of your immigration matter, and how you heard about us. If you book a paid consultation or retain the firm, we collect additional information required to represent you, subject to the protections of the attorney-client relationship.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our servers may automatically log your IP address, browser type, device, referring URL, pages you visit, and timestamps. We use cookies to remember your language preference and (for staff) to maintain session state in our admin panel. We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage; Google Analytics collects and processes data according to its own privacy practices.

How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your consultation or contact request
  • To schedule and prepare for your consultation
  • To create a contact record in our case-management system (Salesforce)
  • To communicate with you about your matter or our services
  • To understand how visitors use the Site and improve it
  • To comply with legal, regulatory, or ethical obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with marketers. If you submit a consultation request, your information is used only by firm staff and the systems that support their work.

Confidentiality and the Attorney-Client Relationship

Submitting information through this Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only when a written engagement agreement is signed by you and the firm. Until then, please do not send us confidential case details, A-numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information. Initial consultation intakes should include only enough information for us to evaluate potential representation.

Once you retain the firm, all communications are protected by the attorney-client privilege and the duty of confidentiality to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each of which may receive limited information as part of their role in operating the Site:

  • Cloudflare (DNS, content delivery, security)
  • Google Analytics (aggregate usage analytics; only if we have enabled it)
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3 (bot detection on public forms; Google's privacy policy applies)
  • Salesforce (case and contact management; consultation requests are forwarded here)
  • Anthropic (our optional AI-powered FAQ chat; conversations are logged for service improvement)
  • Google Workspace (firm email, calendar, and document storage)

Each of these services has its own privacy practices. We select vendors who we believe protect your information responsibly, but we do not control their policies.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain uses. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected].

You can ask us to delete your information at any time. We will honor the request unless we are required to retain the information to meet legal or ethical obligations (for example, client file retention rules imposed by the State Bar of California).

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide โ€” including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and staff training on confidentiality. No system is perfectly secure, however. If you believe your information has been improperly accessed, please contact us immediately.

Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Site after changes indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
